Super rare SEARS Para-Trooper Plane with original box and accessories. Made of mostly plastic. Comes with 5 para-troopers and a jeep. Since this is an expensive item and Etsy only allows a limited number of pictures I will try to outline any damage or issues I can find below.
There is some tape repair and damage where the wing connects to the body of the plane. The wing can be make to stay on but not very securely. Also, one of the torpedoes under the right wing is missing (they are decorative). The toy takes batteries which should make the propellers spin but due to the damage where the wing and plane connect, it would need some repair to get working again. Inside the battery compartment looks very clean and free of corrosion. One of the para-troopers is not connected to his parachute and most of the parachutes will need a little bit of untangling. The box is excellent for its age. There is a 1"x3" piece of the box lid missing at the bottom of one of the small sides and some tape repairs to two of the corners. Colors and pictures are still great. It is a little dirty from storage.
Toy and box are being sold as-is for the above reasons.
Now, on to the fun stuff!
There is a compartment at the back of the plane which opens with a metal lever. This compartment stores up to three paratroopers which are to be pushed into the slots. The three red buttons on the top of the plane can then be pressed to spring release the paratroopers into the air so they can drop into battle! All three compartments still work fine and shoot the little soldiers quite a distance. The original instructions sheet is also still here. I was not able to find out much about this toy in my research, but it was originally purchased in Canada and being a Sears Exclusive, there would have been less made than perhaps a more mainstream toy from the time. I believe this would have been from the early 1960s, though I can't find a date on it to be sure.
Vehicle measures approx. 14" long with a wingspan of 19".
