Vintage 1910s Edwardian hat is a rare beauty horsehair, cotton and fine straw. This fabulous 1913-15 asymmetric hat is quintessential of the time, but exceptional in its details. The mix of materials - folded bands of horsehair, ruffles of raffia straw and horsehair lace add dimension and interest. Pleated polished black cotton trims the bottom edge and is wrapped into rosettes at the peak for rich texture. It is made to rest on larger hair styles, but has an interior that can rest on a standard crown.

There is some fraying under the edge of the brim, not seen when worn, where wire has worn through, and close to where the lining is stitched down. There are lose stitches at the lining of the crown. There are a few little frays to the raffia edges on the exterior, all very minor. I find no other issues to note.
