This is an original painting of three cheeky merkitties having a party! I painted them using acrylic, and outlined them using ink, on 98lb (160gsm) acid-free paper. Signed with ink on the bottom right hand corner. This little painting is taken straight out of my sketchbook, so there may be some raw edges on the left side of the paper where it was attached to my sketchbook. :)
The mercats were created one day when I was watching our cat Patch lying on her back in the lounge. She was being playful and when she's happy, she tends to lie on her back and paw at the air for no reason at all! Sometimes she would wiggle towards me while still on her back, and when she did that, it reminded me of a fish wriggling about, and ta-dah! Mercats were born :)
The entire piece of paper measures 10 x 7 inches. It is one of my most favourite paintings I have made to date, and I think it would look lovely hanging in a child's nursery/bedroom, or in the lounge! :)
If you don't have a frame, that's no problem - pretty washi tape on all four corners would look adorable too ;)
The painting will be shipped in a plastic sleeve with a stiff cardboard backing to minimise any creasing during shipping and handling.
