This classic orange Stingray features a pressed steel body with a real bumper made of hard plastic. There are action stickers on both doors and a Tonka sticker on the trunk. The car has hard rubber tires in the rear. The two speed friction action on this car needs repair. I am guessing that someone took the car apart and didn’t put it together properly. The roaring action works some of the time. This car was made in Japan by the Tonka Toy Company in 1976.
The underside of the car has a Tonka sticker and is embossed, “TONKA”, Made in Japan”, “PAT.PEND.” and “Tonka Corp”.
Measurements: Approximately 6 1/2" long and 2 3/4" wide.
Condition: Vintage 1976. Some scratches on the body. See photos. The two speed friction action on this car needs repair. Roaring action works some of the time.
