This stunning lace prom dress dates from the 1950s. The dress is tea length--or floor length if you are 5' 2" like me and want to wear flats!! Perfect for celebrating Valentine's day, a vintage wedding, homecoming, or prom!
I believe the lace is Alencon, The dress is styled with a fitted bodice, cut with interesting seaming and cap sleeves. The wide scoop neckline is edged with scallop detail and the bodice is fully lined with rayon taffeta. There is a lovely criss-cross cummerbund detail made of sheer ruched matching red nylon tricot--the perfect way to accet a tiny waist!
The skirt of the dress is made of three layers of fabric. The top layer is made of the red Alencon lace. The middle layer is red nylon net, and the under-most layer is ivory rayon taffeta. I have pictured the dress with a moderate crinoline , but It is quite lovely as is,.. The dress zips up the center back with a metal zipper.
Should one need to alter the dress, there is maybe an inch and a half to let out at the the center of the bust at the neckline (see final photoThis would increase the bust to a maximum of 38.5". As the skirts of the dress are plain, this one is quite easy to shorten, if you wish. Issues: There were three 1-2" torn areas near the hem of the UNDERskirt, which have been sturdily repaired with matching fabric.I am happy to send additional photos. This one s otherwise PERFECT, sturdy, and ready to party!

Bust:37" (or 38.5" with center tuck let out)
Waist: 26"
