This is a set of 16 real photo postcards/bookmarks ("Book Post Cards") from the early 1900's picturing actors and actresses from the English theater. They are about half the size of regular postcards (1-3/4" x 5-3/8") and cost 1 halfpenny to send. These were never posted and are in very good condition with almost no wear. Some of the performers pictured must have been quite popular in their day, since it's possible to find information about them on the internet. The most famous is probably Constance Collier who went to Hollywood and appeared in films. She also became an acting and diction coach in the early days of talking pictures, and eventually coached some very famous stars (Katharine Hepburn, Vivien Leigh, and Marilyn Monroe, among others).
