Brilliant coral-pink dressing gown from the early 1940s that features long blousy sleeves with ruffle cuffs, a gathered bust and shoulder, and a bias cut.
The cold rayon is so fluid and drapey, it just flows with the wearer.
High contrast navy piping at the collar and button front draws the eye to the bodice and all that delicious gathering.
The piping is continued at the hem and cuffs.
The elastic at the cuffs is still taut for maximum effect.

Condition: Near-Excellent. At first glance the piece is pristine because it has such little wear and the color is so vibrant. If you really scour the gown, you see the issues below. I believe the water marks are from storage as I found this gown hanging in a damp basement. (It does not have an unpleasant odor, however!)
- There are moisture spots on the gown, see last photo at upper left and right photo.
- There is a very faint spot at the hip area of the gown, see last photo at bottom left.
Measurements are taken flat and doubled for bust, waist and hips. Please account for comfort and movement when considering these measurements.
Bust - 36 - 38" but please note there is no side closure so the high waist (at the gather points) have to go over the bust.
Waist - 26 - 29"
Hips - up to 40"
Shoulder - 16"
Sleeve - 23"
